R027 Using the new Sigrok Adapter

We are in the process of migrating all content to impulse version 2.0.

The sigrok project provides a software set that enables various aquisition device types, such as logic analyzers, MSOs, oscilloscopes, multimeters, LCR meters, sound level meters, thermometers, hygrometers, anemometers, light meters, Energy meters, DAQs, dataloggers, function generators, RF receivers, spectrum analyzers, power supplies and GPIB interfaces. .



1 Installation

Sigrok itself is not part of this plugin. Please visit Sigrok to get information how to install.

Make sure you installed the Sigrok adapter.



2 Prepare a port

A port defines an entity that can be opened by the impulse viewer streaming in signal data from various sources.

To create a port first open the Signal Ports view.

Now select the ports element, open the context menu and add a new Sigrok Adapter.

After this step you see the configuration dialog.

For the first experiments, select the demo device and leave the rest of the dialog as it is and press OK.



3 Open the Port

Select the new Port (Multi Adapter Port), open the context menu and press open.

An editor is opened. If no configuration exists, impulse asks you to add a new configuration.



4 Start Streaming

Press the red button to start streaming. If the streaming is contentiously, the red button stops it again.The yellow button activates the update mechanism while and before streaming.
